Why do bullies bully?
There are many reasons why people may bully. Here are a few: -
» Some children may become bullies after a traumatic event such as divorce, the birth of a new child or the death of a loved one
» They don't fit in with other kids
»
They like the feeling of power over someone

» They are spoilt and expect everyone to do as they say
» They feel insecure, inadequate or humiliated
» They have been abused or treated badly in some way
» They have been bullied at home by other family
members
» They feel under pressure to do well
What to do - Parents
» Take the bullying seriously and find out the facts when told about an incident of bullying
» Don't keep it a secret - talk about it
» Talk to teachers or head teacher if the bullying is at
school
